Provide Input on our next Strategic Plan!

Washington County Library is working to update its strategic plan, a document that defines library goals and helps county leaders make decisions for the department. The previous strategic plan was updated in 2016 and outlined goals to expand outreach efforts, update library facilities, and implement additional technology training for the public.

One of the library's priorities for the new strategic plan is to make sure it is informed by the perspectives of community members. This is especially important as residents recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and library services evolve to meet their changing needs.

To gather feedback, Washington County Library is asking community members – both those who use the libraries and those who don't - to complete a short survey. The survey, which takes less than 10 minutes to complete, asks participants if and where they use the library, the services that are most important to them, and their preferences on library open hours.

The library will use results from the survey and other community engagement efforts to complete a draft of the strategic plan by the end of the year. The updated strategic plan will guide library and county leaders in setting goals and prioritizing funding for library programs and services beginning in early 2023.

We want to hear from you! Tell us what matters to you about the library by taking the survey: WashCoLib.org/survey.
