Wayne Johnson posted a series of messages on his Twitter account between August 31 and September 2, 2025, reflecting on Labor Day weekend, the efforts of essential workers, and the emotional significance of the start of a new school year.

On August 31, Johnson commented on the weather during the holiday weekend: "Happy Sunday! Have we had a better Labor Day Weekend when it comes to weather? #41A"

The following day, September 1, he acknowledged those working over the holiday: "An extra shout out to those who are working today so we can enjoy today. My daughter is one of them. She is working at Regions. #LaborDay2025 #thankyourworkers #localcommittment" Labor Day in the United States is observed annually on the first Monday in September and honors the contributions of American workers.

On September 2, Johnson reflected on changing times and family life: "There are a lot of emotions and thoughts on a day like today. That is in a normal year. This year is not normal. Do we actually have any normal years anymore? Stay safe and take the time to hug your kids when they get home and ask how their day was. I miss those days." The beginning of September often marks the return to school for many families across the country.

Labor Day has long been recognized as both an opportunity for rest and celebration as well as an occasion to recognize those who continue to work during national holidays.
