Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, has recently commented on local industry and foreign policy in a series of social media posts.

On August 20, 2025, Stauber shared his experience visiting a local business in Duluth: "I was able to tour IKONICS in Duluth to learn about their state-of-the-art process of producing chemicals for screen printing. Amazing investments being made right here in Duluth! https://t.co/Ds4AclzMFV".

The following day, Stauber addressed concerns regarding regional media coverage of the mining sector. In a post dated August 21, 2025, he stated: "It is disappointing but unsurprising that the Star Tribune and others in the Minnesota media continue to target the taconite industry over an outdated, unsupported sulfate standard.

Mining is part of our way of life, and I won’t let misinformation threaten my constituents’".

Later on August 21, Stauber highlighted his ongoing support for Israel at a community event: "My staff recently attended the @AIPAC Minnesota Summer event. My support for Israel's right to defend itself and to win will never waver! https://t.co/DESjmpFLCG".

Stauber has represented Minnesota’s 8th District in Congress since succeeding Rick Nolan in 2019 and previously served as a St. Louis County Commissioner from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, he holds a BA from Lake Superior State University (1990).
