Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, shared updates on his recent visits to community development and healthcare projects in Sandstone through a series of social media posts.

On August 14, Stauber posted about progress at the Sandstone School Workforce Housing Project: "Visited the Sandstone School Workforce Housing Project today. Great to see the progress in transforming this historic site into 32 workforce housing units and a community arts center. Excited to see this revitalization, with completion set for June 2026."

He reiterated his visit the following morning, stating: "Visited the Sandstone School Workforce Housing Project today. Great to see the progress in transforming this historic site into 32 workforce housing units and a community arts center." (August 15).

In addition to touring the housing project, Stauber also visited a local health provider on August 15: "It was great to tour Selah Wellness Clinic in Sandstone today! Their work providing personalized care to rural patients and veterans is critical to the area."

Stauber has represented Minnesota’s 8th District in Congress since replacing Rick Nolan in 2019. Before serving in Congress, he was part of the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 until his congressional election. Born in Duluth in 1966, Stauber currently resides in Hermantown and holds a BA from Lake Superior State University.
