Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, shared updates on recent activities and policy positions through a series of tweets in August 2025.
On August 10, Stauber highlighted Secretary Duffy’s visit to the Duluth Air Traffic Control Tower, stating, "A great recap of Secretary Duffy’s visit to the Duluth Air Traffic Control Tower, which is the third oldest in the nation. With the help of the historic One Big Beautiful Bill, we are going to modernize our air traffic control system!" The Duluth Air Traffic Control Tower holds historical significance as one of the oldest towers in operation nationally.
Later that day, Stauber commented on his ongoing work during Congress's August recess: "It's been a productive August recess so far! Check out some of the highlights from my recent visits!"
On August 11, Stauber addressed public safety concerns for visitors to Washington D.C., expressing support for former President Trump: "When Minnesotans visit our nation’s capital, they shouldn’t fear for their safety. Fortunately, President Trump is going to restore law and order in D.C. - just as he did at the southern border! I’m grateful for his strong leadership and commitment to public safety!"
Stauber has represented Minnesota's 8th District since succeeding Rick Nolan in 2019 and previously served on the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, Stauber graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Superior State University in 1990.
