Pete Stauber discusses air quality concerns and regional projects in latest social media posts

Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district, shared updates on his recent activities and positions in a series of posts on August 4 and 5, 2025.

On August 4, Stauber highlighted his appearance on Minnesota Public Radio: "This morning, I joined Cathy Wurzer on MPR's Morning Edition to discuss the pressing issues of the day, including the poor air quality due to Canadian wildfires and the recent passage of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. Later that day, Stauber attended a local infrastructure event: "Thrilled to join local leaders at the Silver Bay Multi-Modal Trailhead Groundbreaking! Excited to support this project that boosts recreation and connectivity in our district. https://t.co/riGxM9huaa" (August 4, 2025).

On August 5, he endorsed a policy stance regarding mineral independence: ".@RepYoungKim is absolutely correct! We must make America critical mineral independent! https://t.co/HlIgzCv9Ux" (August 5, 2025).

Stauber has represented Minnesota’s 8th District in Congress since replacing Rick Nolan in 2019. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served on the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, Stauber graduated from Lake Superior State University with a BA in 1990.
