Rep. Patti Anderson has been named the 2025 Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities. The award recognizes Anderson’s work in supporting cities, especially her efforts to oppose state-level legislation that would limit local land use and zoning authority. Anderson’s background as a former city official has influenced her approach, leading her to advocate for maintaining local control over municipal affairs.

“I’m honored to receive this recognition from the League of Minnesota Cities,” said Anderson. “I’ve always believed that the best decisions are made closest to the people, and I’ll continue to defend local control and support the important work of our cities.”

The Legislator of Distinction award is given each year by the League’s Board of Directors to lawmakers who show ongoing commitment to strong partnerships between state and local governments.
