Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, recently shared updates on legislative efforts and public acknowledgments through his social media posts.
On August 2, 2025, Stauber highlighted progress on a congressional initiative by stating, "A BIG step for our Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act! I look forward to seeing this bill pass the Senate and delivering it to President Trump’s desk for signature because these American hockey heroes deserve the recognition!" This post references legislation aimed at honoring the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team with a Congressional Gold Medal.
Two days later, on August 4, Stauber recognized the anniversary of a key military service branch. He wrote, "Proud to honor the U.S. Coast Guard on its 235th birthday! Your unwavering service protects our shores, saves lives, and secures our waters. Thank you for your dedication."
That same day, Stauber announced an upcoming media appearance: "About to join Cathy Wurzer on MPR’s Morning Edition. Be sure to tune in!"
Stauber has represented Minnesota's 8th District in Congress since replacing Rick Nolan in 2019 and previously served as a St. Louis County Commissioner from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, he is an alumnus of Lake Superior State University (BA, 1990).
