Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, has used his social media platform to address concerns over alleged fraud in Minnesota and express support for national security legislation.

On July 23, 2025, Stauber posted: "Unbelievable… fraud under the failed leadership of Governor Walz is expected to exceed $1 billion. This is insulting to Minnesota’s taxpayers."

Later that day, Stauber wrote: "I am proud to support the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025! This bipartisan bill strengthens our Coast Guard’s mission to secure our borders, combat drug trafficking, and ensure maritime safety. It equips our brave men and women in uniform with the resources they need to"

On July 24, 2025, he continued his criticism of state leadership by stating: "Minnesota has become the epicenter for waste, fraud, and abuse under the failed leadership of Tim Walz. Minnesotans deserve answers which is why I’m joining my colleagues in calling for an investigation by the Justice Department."

Stauber has represented Minnesota's 8th District in Congress since succeeding Rick Nolan in 2019. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, Stauber graduated from Lake Superior State University with a BA in 1990.
