Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, addressed several key infrastructure and legislative issues in a series of tweets on July 16, 2025.

In his first post at 14:37 UTC, Stauber commented on recent media coverage, stating, "There's a lot of fake news going around right now. The One Big, Beautiful Bill is a major win for EVERY AMERICAN."

Later that day at 18:03 UTC, he discussed funding for a regional infrastructure project: "Despite fear mongering from the left earlier this year, funding for the Blatnik Bridge replacement project was never in jeopardy. I’m glad to see my friend @SecDuffy and this administration’s Department of Transportation prioritize traditional infrastructure projects rather than".

In an evening post at 20:53 UTC, Stauber shared his perspective on another local proposal: "The proposed NLX project would be another Minnesota boondoggle. Fortunately, my colleagues on the House Appropriations Committee agreed, and now the taxpayer will be spared from paying for such a fiscally irresponsible project."

Stauber has represented Minnesota’s 8th District in Congress since succeeding Rick Nolan in 2019. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served as a St. Louis County Commissioner from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, Stauber graduated from Lake Superior State University with a bachelor’s degree in 1990.
