On July 12, 2025, Stauber commented on air quality issues in Minnesota related to wildfires in Canada. He stated: "Minnesota is under another air quality alert this weekend due to smoke from Canadian wildfires. Our health is at risk. Canada must take stronger action to manage its forests. Enough is enough."

The following day, July 13, 2025, Stauber reflected on the anniversary of an assassination attempt targeting former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. He wrote: "One year ago, we witnessed an assassination attempt on President Trump in Butler, PA. Just moments after the shots rang out, the President miraculously rose up and yelled 'fight,fight, fight' - a powerful demonstration of American strength and determination. I’m deeply grateful".

On July 14, 2025, Stauber shared a personal note about his district with a brief message: "Beautiful sunrise in the Northland this morning. Have a great week everyone!"

Stauber has represented Minnesota's 8th District since 2019 after succeeding Rick Nolan and previously served on the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and residing in Hermantown, he holds a BA from Lake Superior State University.
