Pete Stauber, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota's 8th District since 2019, has recently expressed his views on various political matters through social media. Stauber, who succeeded Rick Nolan and previously served on the St. Louis County Commission, shared his thoughts on issues concerning law enforcement, immigration, and energy policy.
On June 9, 2025, Stauber commented on the situation in Los Angeles by stating that "LA is overrun by violent mobs who are attacking law enforcement & terrorizing communities." He criticized leftist politicians like Gavin Newsom for abandoning American citizens while commending President Trump for taking steps to protect Americans.
The following day, June 10, Stauber turned his attention to Minnesota's immigration policies under Governor Tim Walz. He asserted that "under the failed leadership of Tim Walz, Minnesota has become a magnet for illegal immigrants." Stauber called upon Walz to justify prioritizing illegal immigrants' interests over Minnesotans'.
Later on June 10, Stauber congratulated a colleague on her return to a governmental role. He stated: "A huge congrats to my friend @DepSecMac on returning to her role as Deputy Secretary of @Interior! I’m looking forward to working together to unleash America’s mineral and energy dominance!" This tweet reflects his support for policies promoting America's mineral and energy sectors.
Stauber was born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1966 and currently resides in Hermantown. He graduated from Lake Superior State University with a BA in 1990.
