Pete Stauber, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Minnesota’s 8th district, shared a series of posts on June 6, 2025. Stauber has been in office since 2019 after succeeding Rick Nolan and previously served on the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 to 2019.
On June 6, Stauber commemorated the D-Day anniversary by reflecting on its significance during World War II. He tweeted: "Today marks the 81st anniversary of D-Day – a defining moment in World War II when Allied forces bravely stormed the beaches of Normandy, beginning the liberation of Europe. We will always remember the courage and sacrifice of the Greatest Generation."
Later that day, Stauber highlighted his engagement with labor representatives by tweeting about a meeting he had with members of the United Steelworkers Union. He noted: "I had a great meeting this morning with my friends Steven Biondich, Josh Mettler, and Wade Yahula from the United Steelworkers Union. We had a great conversation about their ongoing trip to D.C. and what can be done to unleash economic prosperity on the Iron Range."
In another post on June 6, Stauber expressed criticism towards new boating regulations in Minnesota. He stated: "If you've been safely operating a boat for decades, you shouldn't have to jump through bureaucratic hoops to get a permit. Let's just call this new rule what it is: an attack on our way of life AND a desperate money grab by the state of Minnesota."
Born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1966 and residing in Hermantown, Pete Stauber graduated from Lake Superior State University with a BA in 1990.
