Calling all Cottage Grove future leaders ages 8-12! Are you interested in being Mayor for the day? As honorary Mayor, you’ll get the chance to be picked up from your school by the Chief of Police in his squad car, have pizza, ask questions with the (current) Mayor, tour city offices, ride on a Zamboni and more! Feeling a little shy? That’s okay. One or both of your parents are invited to be with us the whole time. You’ll even get to meet the City Council and be presented with an official certificate that’s yours to keep. If you’re interested in holding the keys to the city, we want to hear from you!
How to enter:
Write us a short essay, 250 words or less, explaining why you would like to be mayor for a day and what your vision is for the future of Cottage Grove. Please send your handwritten essay to us either by picture, scan or PDF attachment and include your name, age, grade and what school you go to. Essays can be sent to Taylor Bengtson at tbengtson@cottagegrovemn.gov by October 16, 2022 for your chance to be entered. We can't wait to hear from you!
