The City of Cottage Grove has a team of dedicated staff who ensure safety in the spaces in which we live, work and learn. May is Building Safety Month so we’d like to recognize their hard work and tell you a little bit about what the team does. Our building officials assure all construction projects and properties are designed, constructed, and maintained in a compliant and safe manner. Building safety codes and the officials who enforce them are essential to helping communities become affordable, resilient, and energy and water efficient. The city's fire marshal and on-duty paramedic/firefighters also inspect existing commercial buildings for fire and life safety.
