While Minnesota residents prepared to celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11, the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) invited veterans in the state to participate in the 14th annual Veterans Career Fair.
According to the invitation, the Minnesota Veterans Virtual Career Fair was held online on Nov. 19. The job fair was held to provide resources to assist veterans in finding full-time jobs.
“We want to invite all Minnesota military veterans and active service members, including National Guard members and reservists, and their spouses to meet employers who recognize and appreciate your military experience,” said DEED Commissioner Steve Grove in a press release. “If you’re looking for work now, or are considering a career move, this is a great opportunity to hear from hundreds of employers, meet virtually with those that interest you and share your skills and experience with them.”
MDVA Commissioner Larry Herke said military service not only provides high-tech training and real-world experience, it also builds character skills like integrity, leadership, teamwork and commitment to getting the job done right.
“We want to thank all the great Minnesota employers who acknowledge the unique value those who serve or served in the military bring to their organization’s team,” Herke said in a press release. “Hiring a veteran is a great decision for an organization’s success.”
