Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on October 7, 2025. Stauber, who succeeded Rick Nolan and previously served on the St. Louis County Commission, commented on the anniversary of the Hamas attack in Israel, celebrated infrastructure improvements in his district, and criticized fellow lawmakers over government funding votes.

In his first post marking the two-year anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israeli civilians, Stauber stated: "Today marks two years since Hamas terrorists brutally attacked, murdered, and kidnapped innocent Israeli civilians. My prayers continue to be with the remaining hostages and all those who lost a loved one in this brutal act of terror.

I stand in solidarity with the people of https://t.co/iAgFjI50Ab" (October 7, 2025).

Later that day, Stauber highlighted local infrastructure progress with another post: "After years of construction, the Twin Ports Interchange Project is done! I was proud to celebrate the completion of this project that will not only improve road safety but also boost economic growth by strengthening access to the Duluth-Superior Port.

A big thank you to everyone https://t.co/BUZMoLX3w7" (October 7, 2025).

In a third message posted that afternoon, Stauber criticized Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith for their voting record on government funding: "Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith have voted against funding the government FIVE times.

They are putting politics over the well-being of Minnesotans. https://t.co/kWYekZC1AJ" (October 7, 2025).

Stauber was born in Duluth in 1966 and currently resides in Hermantown. He holds a BA from Lake Superior State University (1990). His career has included service at both county and federal levels.
