Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, posted a series of messages on social media reflecting on the anniversary of September 11 and recent developments in a high-profile criminal case.

On September 11, 2025, Stauber marked the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with a message honoring victims and first responders: "24 years ago, our nation changed forever. Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroism of the first responders, and the families who lost cherished loved ones. America stands strong, not because we are untouched by tragedy, but https://t.co/JeVYVIhGhi" (posted September 11, 2025).

Later that day, Stauber shared his participation in a memorial event at the U.S. Capitol: "This morning, I helped lay flags at the U.S. Capitol as part of @yaf's 9/11 Never Forget project. Alongside students on campuses nationwide, we honored the memory of the Americans we lost 24 years ago. https://t.co/WfdZ4GtfLd" (posted September 11, 2025).

On September 12, Stauber addressed law enforcement efforts following a recent crime: "I am grateful to the local, state, and federal law enforcement officials who worked around the clock to ensure the arrest of Charlie Kirk’s murderer. Justice will now be served. Please continue to keep Charlie’s family, especially his wife and children, in your prayers." (posted September 12, 2025).

Stauber has served in Congress since replacing Rick Nolan in Minnesota's 8th district in 2019 and previously was a St. Louis County Commissioner from 2013 to 2019. He was born in Duluth in 1966 and currently resides in Hermantown after graduating from Lake Superior State University with a BA in 1990.
