Northeast Metro 916 School District students performance on MCA and MTAS in 2021-22 school year?

Northeast Metro 916 School District ranked fifth in the Ramsey County for test participation, with 418 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Northeast Metro 916 School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 40.3% over the previous year.

Northeast Metro 916 School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 16% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 15% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 89% not meeting the expected standards.

Northeast Metro 916 School District encompasses schools within Ramsey County and has a main office in White Bear Lake.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
