How did North St. Paul-Maplewood Oakdale Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

North St. Paul-Maplewood Oakdale Public School District ranked second in the Ramsey County for test participation, with 4,622 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of North St. Paul-Maplewood Oakdale Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 62.1% over the previous year.

North St. Paul-Maplewood Oakdale Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 37% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 14% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 50% not meeting the expected standards.

North St. Paul-Maplewood Oakdale Public School District encompasses schools within Ramsey County and has a main office in Maplewood.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
