How many Forest Lake Public School District students took their MCA and MTAS Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Forest Lake Public School District ranked first in the Washington County for test participation, with 2,914 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Forest Lake Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 44.7% over the previous year.

Forest Lake Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 48% in 2021-22 school year.

Third grade students stood out with 23% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 35% not meeting the expected standards.

Forest Lake Public School District encompasses schools within Washington County and has a main office in Forest Lake.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
