Lumberjack Days Parade GRAND MARSHAL announced - Joe Kohler

6

Stillwater, MN- When the Chamber was thinking about who could be the Grand Marshal for the returning Lumberjack Days Parade - the answer was obvious - Joe Kohler!  Though Joe took some time to think about it, he agreed and will ride in a place of honor to lead the historic LumberJack Day Parade on Sunday, July 17th at 1 pm. Earlier this year, after more than a half-century in the business, Joe Kohler, the owner of Joseph’s Family Restaurant in Oak Park Heights, announced that he is retiring.

We know the community will wholeheartedly show their love for Joe and the namesake local restaurant they love. Many locals have memories and celebrated milestones in their lives with friends and family at Joseph’s Family Restaurant. What a joyful way for the community to say, “thank you,” to Joe and his beautiful wife Mary; and for Joe and Mary to give a warm, “thank you right back,” to the community they served for decades.

Joe began working in restaurants when he was 15, and he never stopped. Lucky for Stillwater, Kohler is selling Joseph’s Restaurant to the Leon family. The Leons own several other restaurants, including all of the Acapulco Restaurante Mexicano restaurants, the old Pub 112, and are a co-owner of Devil’s Advocate; so the community can rest assured that the same great service and offerings that they are used to, will remain. Joseph’s will continue to operate as is — with the same menu, same staff, same hours.

Joseph’s Family Restaurant was established in 1974 as a family restaurant with quality food and service. For over 45 years, they have been specializing in home made foods, fresh baked award winning pies, gourmet egg dishes for breakfast, outstanding burgers, chicken salad to die for, steak, chicken and the best german potato salad in Minnesota. For many years, voted best pie in Stillwater, and best breakfast in Stillwater!
