Washington County Library issued the following announcement on March 17.
The real estate market in Washington County and in the rest of the Twin Cities metro area has seen some of the largest gains in recent history during the past year and a half. Washington County’s 2022 assessed values on properties mirror the market activity that has taken place.
The 2022 values are determined based on the sales that occurred between Oct. 1, 2020, through Sept. 30, 2021. These sales are also time adjusted by the Minnesota Department of Revenue to keep up with market activity. For example, if a property sold in the beginning of the sales period it will be adjusted to reflect how properties are selling at the end of the sales period.
Washington County property owners will be receiving their Valuation and Classification Notices in mid-March. If you have any questions regarding your 2022 market value, call the number on your valuation notice or 651-430-6175 and your call will be transferred to the appraiser responsible for your area.
