Newport median home prices rose by 4.8% in the fourth quarter of 2020

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2020 in Newport rose by $12,000 while total sales remained unchanged with seven homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2020, there were seven homes sold, with a median sale price of $262,000 - a 4.8% increase over the $250,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were seven homes sold in Newport in the fourth quarter of 2019, as well.

The median sales tax in Newport for 2020 was $3,373. In 2019, the median sales tax was $3,199. This marks an increase of 5.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.3%.
