The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is encouraging citizens to buy and eat locally over the holidays as the state plans for round two of COVID-19.

Officials said by ordering and utilizing eateries locally, residents can help local eateries and other businesses by ordering takeout and curbside delivery.

Doing business provincially is an easy way to help important businesses thrive while having a fancy meal at home. This will help businesses overcome the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The best way to help your local restaurants weather this time is by ordering takeout whenever you can,” said DEED Commissioner Steve Grove in a press release. “They need our support now more than ever.”

Hospitality Minnesota President and CEO Liz Rammer said hospitality businesses have been delivering happy memories to friends and families for many years.

“Help return the favor by supporting them with your takeout order today," Rammer said.
