North High School issued the following announcement on Nov. 22.
Congratulations to two North High students who were recognized by Project Success and the Minnesota Vikings. Students invited to this event got to meet Vikings players virtually and will receive gift boxes for their participation. In addition, two students received recognition for an essay they submitted.
Alejandro Anderson's essay was selected for a $1000 scholarship. Alejandro wrote his essay about his dream of pursuing a degree in political science in order to work on ending systemic and institutional racism so that people can live a life of true liberty and justice.
Samir Muhammad's essay was also selected for an honorable mention and he was awarded a $100 gift.
We are so proud of both students. In this challenging time, they both went above and beyond to enter this competition and they both make North High proud!
