Newport home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2019 in Newport rose by $32,150 while total sales decreased by 61.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2019, there were seven homes sold, with a median sale price of $250,000 - a 14.8% increase over the $217,850 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 18 homes sold in Newport in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The median sales tax in Newport for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $2,280, approximately 0.9% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2019.
