The Republican Party of Minnesota endorsed State Sen. Karin Housley for a third term.
Housley was elected into the Senate in 2012.
There was no opposition to her endorsement during the Republican Party of Minnesota Convention, which was conducted via teleconferencing due to COVID-19.
Housley thanked her fellow Republicans for supporting her.
"I am proud to be part of such an active group of people committed to defending our values,” Housley said. “I am so grateful to the people of Forest Lake, Stillwater, and the surrounding St. Croix Valley for placing their trust in me over the past eight years."
Housley said there is still more work to be done and she is looking forward to asking her constituents for another term in office.
Housley is currently the chair of the Senate Family Care and Aging Committee.
She represents Forest Lake, Stillwater, Lake Elmo, Oak Park Heights and the surrounding St. Croix Valley.
