Pete Stauber highlights Medal of Honor recipient and CDL policy concerns in recent posts

Pete Stauber, U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, recently shared a series of posts on his social media account highlighting national pride, recognition of military service, and concerns over state policies regarding commercial drivers licenses.

On February 25, 2026, Stauber posted a brief message: “God bless America”.

Later that day, he wrote about meeting Captain E. Royce Williams, who was honored at the State of the Union address: “It was an honor to meet American hero Captain E. Royce Williams, who received the Medal of Honor last night during the #SOTU2026. More than 70 years ago, he shot down four Soviet MiGs in one dogfight during the Korean War in a classified operation. It lasted 35 minutes – the”.

On February 26, Stauber expressed concern over Minnesota’s licensing policies after learning about an incident involving a commercial driver: “I’m furious to learn that an illegal alien with a MN-issued Commercial Drivers License was caught driving on the wrong side of the road for miles. Someone could have been killed. Democrat-led states like MN must stop issuing CDLs without verifying English skills and legal”.

Stauber has represented Minnesota’s 8th District in Congress since replacing Rick Nolan in 2019 and previously served on the St. Louis County Commission from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966 and currently residing in Hermantown, Stauber graduated from Lake Superior State University with a BA in 1990.
