Pete Stauber, a U.S. Congressman representing Minnesota’s 8th district since 2019, shared updates on his recent activities and commented on national issues through a series of social media posts in October 2025.

On October 10, Stauber addressed the ongoing government shutdown, writing: “While democrats keep the government shutdown, I’ve been busy in Minnesota working for you. Check out some highlights from this week! https://t.co/RwglTY1AOs”.

The following day, Stauber highlighted Breast Cancer Awareness Month and discussed efforts to raise awareness about metastatic breast cancer. He posted: “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I sat down with Shelly Johnson to get an update on her battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Later that day, Stauber commented on military funding during the shutdown. He stated: “Senate Democrats have voted against paying our troops seven times.

Luckily, Republicans are stepping up to ensure our service members don’t miss a paycheck.

Stauber has represented Minnesota’s 8th District in Congress since replacing Rick Nolan in 2019 and previously served as a St. Louis County Commissioner from 2013 to 2019. Born in Duluth in 1966, he currently resides in Hermantown and holds a bachelor’s degree from Lake Superior State University earned in 1990.
